WILMA SUE THOMPSON

Wilma Sue Thompson, age 65, of Stearns, Kentucky, passed away Sunday, January 6, 2012, at the Lake Cumberland Regional Hospital in Somerset.

Funeral services will be held Sunday, January 8, 2012, at 2:00 p.m. in the chapel of Pine Knot Funeral Home. Visitation will be Saturday from 6 a€" 9 p.m. Burial will be at the Angel Cemetery.

Wilma had worked for the McCreary Health and Rehabilitation Center as a nurse's assistant before retiring. She was a member of the Murphy Ridge Community Church. She enjoyed decorating, sewing and working around the house. She had a great love for her family and liked animals. She took great pleasure in going to church.

Born August 15, 1946, in Frankfort, Kentucky, she was the daughter of the late Oscar V and Edith Davis Ross. She is also preceded in death by her husband Richard Thompson, four brothers; Delbert O., Gene A., Edward, and William Ross and two sisters; Shirley Ross Hatfield and Helen Shirley. Surviving family include a son Richard Anthony (Linda) Thompson of Stearns, a daughter Karen Lynn (Tony) Phillips, Stearns, a sister Carolyn Godsey, Stearns, and two brothers; Newman Ross, (Helen), Sydney, Ohio, and Donald Ross, (Melva) Stearns. Wilma had five grandchildren: Christopher Sullivan, Brandon Phillips, Tiffany and Brittany Thompson, and Harley Danielle Thompson, and a great granddaughter, Alexandria LeeAnn Sullivan.
