Ms. Wilma Jean King, age 68, passed away Thursday, February 9, 2012 at her home in Pine Knot.
Funeral services will be held Sunday at 2:00 p.m. at the Meadows Grove Baptist Church with Rev. Bill King and Rev. William Kilby officiating. Burial will be at the King Meadows Cemetery. The family will receive friends Saturday evening from 6 a" 9 at the funeral home.
Wilma was a member of the Meadows Grove Baptist Church. She had worked for the McCreary County Schools. She was a cook at the Smithtown School for many years and a aide at the Pine Knot Elementary School.
She was born in McCreary County, Kentucky, on April 18, 1943, the daughter of the late Leslie and Mary (Thompson) Stephens. Besides her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband Donald E. King, a brother Gary Stephens and two sisters Ruby Hall and Barbara Kilby.
Surviving family include a daughter Lisa Reagan (husband Gary) of Robbins, Tennessee, and three sons; Tony King (wife Janice), Lawrenceville, Georgia, Benny King (companion Matilda King), Winfield, Tennessee, and Kenny King (companion Angelika McKinney), Pine Knot. Wilma has three surviving sisters; Kathy Privett Brown, Strunk, Geneva Spradlin, Wartburg, Tennessee, and Jeanette Kerlin, Georgia, a brother Charles Stephens, Strunk and two half-brothers Louie and James Stephens, both of Georgia. Wilma was blessed with 12 grandchildren: Anthony, Heather, Kenny, Ben, Tobi, Leisha, Jacob, Shae, Brayden, Amber, Taylor and Ashley, and five great-grandchildren; Deion, Dylan, Andrew, Meliah and Titus.
