WILLIAM DAVIS

Mr. William Davis, age 74 of Wm Davis Road in Williamsburg, passed away on Wednesday August 24, 2011 at Lake Cumberland Regional Hospital in Somerset.

Funeral services are scheduled for Saturday August 27, 2011 at 1pm in the chapel of Pine Knot Funeral Home with Bro. Darrell Bryant officiating. Burial will follow in the Davis Family Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Friday evening from 6-9 pm at the funeral home.

Born at Holly Hill on November 11, 1936, he was the son of the late Memphis and Lona Worley Davis. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by 3 brothers, Willard, Melvin and Edgar Davis.

He is survived by his wife, Goldia Sue Moore Davis, who he married on November 2, 1955. He has a daughter, Judy Lynn Rowe and her husband Jerry of Holly Hill, and 3 sisters, Geneva Stephens and Louise Clark both of Holly Hill and Angie Clark of Revelo. There are 4 grandchildren, Anthony, Ronald, Deja and Kelly Rowe and 4 great grandchildren, Amber, Savannah, Sierra and Ronald also surviving.

Mr. Davis was a logger, and had worked for West Coal Company. He enjoyed cleaning copper and working with his hands. He attended the Church of God.
