Wanda Jane Starrett

Wanda Jane Starrett age 71 of Pine Knot, Kentucky passed from this life on Thursday, July 6, 2023 at the Jean Waddle Hospice Care Center in Somerset, Kentucky.

She was born December 13, 1951 in Cincinnati, Ohio to the late Harvey Ducker and Verna Lee (Messinger). In addition to her parents, Wanda is preceded in death by her companion, Joe Trammell; a son, Joseph Lee "Joey" Starrett; brothers, Jimmy and Harvey Ducker; sisters, Ella Stanton, Hazel Ducker, Virginia Ducker, and Ramona Barber (and Mark); and a granddaughter-in-law, Amber Duncan.

Surviving family include her son, Chad Starrett (and Tami); a daughter, Tina Marie Dunn (and Brandon Duncan); step-children, Joseph A. Trammell (and Carolyn), Tina Price (and Scott), Lonnie James Trammell (and Sherry), Kimberli N. Moore (and Eric), and Christopher Trammell (and Jennifer); and sisters, Donna Crouch (and Clifford) and Jeanette Wesley (and Lew).

Also surviving are grandchildren, CJ, Trent, Ryan, Jordan, Coty (and Stacy), Zachery, Jonah, Jonathan, and Cheyenne Starrett, Brandy Day (and Anthony), River Duncan, and Ian Duncan (and Brandi); 12 step-grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren (and 3 on the way); several nieces and nephews; and a special nephew, Randy Barber (and Marsha).

Wanda had previously worked as a cashier for Gary Lee Anderson's Grocery for many years. She loved caring for her family and having "grill outs", as she called them. Wanda enjoyed going to junk stores and watching her favorite TV shows, NCIS and Chicago Fire. She also enjoyed watching the birds, squirrels, rabbits, and chipmunks around her home. Wanda will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved her.

Funeral service will be held on Tuesday, July 11, 2023 at 3:00 pm in the chapel of Pine Knot Funeral Home with Bro. Boyd Rowe officiating. Burial to follow in the East PK Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends for visitation on Tuesday after 12:00 noon until service time.
