Wanda Faye Ross, age 63, passed away Monday, May 12, 2014, at her home in Stearns, Kentucky.
Funeral services will be held Thursday at 2:00 p.m. in the chapel of Pine Knot Funeral Home. Burial will be in the Lower Hickory Grove Cemetery. The family will receive friends Thursday from 12 noon until time for services.
Wanda was born on Bear Creek in McCreary County, Kentuckly, on October 11, 1950. She was the daughter of Rubin D. Ross and Ethelene (Wilson) Ross. Surviving family include her father Rubin Ross (and wife Nannie) of Stearns, her mother Ethelene (Wilson) Ross, three brothers; Ronald Ross of Wayne County, Kentucky, Randy (and wife Shirley) Ross of Danville, Indiana, and Tilden Ross of Stearns. She has a very special nephew Matthew Ross and uncles Logan Ross, Charles Ross, Wilburn K. Ross and Burdell Ross.
Wanda worked for the State of Indiana in the capitol building for 32 years where she was a supervisor. Upon her retirement in 2012, she moved back to McCreary County where she made her home in Stearns. She was an avid reader, enjoyed puzzle building, cross stitching, crocheting and was very good at bowling. She was a Christian lady and will be missed by all who knew and loved her.
