VELMA JEAN WILSON

Velma Jean Wilson, age 72, of Hamilton, Ohio, formerly of McCreary County, passed away Thursday, December 23, at the Hospice Center of Hamilton. Funeral services will be held Monday at 8:00 p.m. in the chapel of Pine Knot Funeral Home with Rev. Bruce Dixon officiating. Special music will be by Oasis. The family will receive friends beginning at 6:00 p.m. Monday until funeral service time. Committal services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday at the Hickory Flats Cemetery in Hamilton. Born in Tennessee on April 12, 1938, she was the daughter of the late Willie Hill and Willie E. Watson Hill. Also preceding her in death is her husband Alex Wilson, who died in 1980. A son Billy Anderson, a brother Walter Musgrove, a sister Rinnie Cordell and three grandchildren. Surviving family include her companion of nearly 30 years Eugene Anderson, three sons Freddie Glendon Wilson and Calvin Dean Wilson both of Strunk and Rick Wilson of Pine Knot, and three daughters Brenda Douglas of Navarre Beach, Florida, Patty Wilson of Pine Knot, and Linda Roe of Winfield. Her sisters are Carol Crabtree of Oneida, and Phyllis Hamby of Huntsville, and brother Roger Hill of Oneida. She had 16 surviving grandchildren. Ms. Wilson was a homemaker and member of the Mt. Pleasant United Baptist Church.
