Vanessa Pauline Daugherty

Vanessa Pauline Daugherty age 41 of Pine Knot, Kentucky passed from this life on Thursday, January 27, 2022 after fighting a long battle with cancer.

She was born February 16, 1980 in Somerset, Kentucky to Donald A. King and Lisa Stephens Strunk. Vanessa was a homemaker who enjoyed crafting and making things, coloring, painting, and watching movies. From a young child she was raised and grew up attending the Meadows Grove Baptist Church. Vanessa loved her family dearly, especially her daughters and grandchildren.

Preceding her in death is her grandfather, Robert I. Stephens and uncles, Robert Lee Stephens, Eddie Jo Stephens, and Jamie D. Grundy.

Surviving family include her daughters, Destiney Penney (and Dillan) of Monticello, Kentucky and Desiree Rose (and Christopher) of Parkers Lake, Kentucky; her mother, Lisa Strunk of Pine Knot; her father, Donald King of Georgia; special companion, Jerry Strunk of Pine Knot; her grandmother, Janice Waters Grundy of Pine Knot; and grandchildren, Brayden, Brinsley, and two on the way, Liam and Brexlyn.

Also surviving is a brother, Gerald Wayne Strunk of Pine Knot; a sister, Sally Strunk also of Pine Knot; a special aunt, Sharon Privett (and Clellie “Bub”); special niece Courtney and nephew, Cody Bryant; and several special cousins that Vanessa loved dearly.

Funeral service will be held on Tuesday, February 1, 2022 at 1:00 pm at the Meadow Grove Baptist Church with Bro. Daniel Trammell officiating. Burial to follow in the Smith Cemetery. The family will receive friends for visitation on Monday after 6:00 pm at the church.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Funeral Home to assist with remaining funeral expense.
