TRACI HAMLIN ADKINS

Traci Lyn Hamlin Adkins, age 28 of Lexington, formerly of Pine Knot, passed away on Tuesday August 18, 2009.

Funeral services will be conducted on Friday August 21, 2009 at 8pm in the chapel of Pine Knot Funeral Home with Rev. Cyrus Byrd officiating. Burial services are scheduled for 1pm Saturday at the Bledsoe Family Cemetery in Stickleysville, Virginia. The family will receive friends on Friday evening after 5pm until service time at 8 at the funeral home.

Traci was born in Oneida, Tennessee on May 17, 1981. She was the daughter of Lawanna Hamlin Chesnut and her husband Fred of Dothan, Alabama and the late Randy Hamlin.

In addition to her father, she is preceded in death by her maternal grandparents, James and Nina Baird.

Traci is survived by her son, Cade Adkins, her mother and step father, 2 brothers, Jamie Todd Hamlin and Michael Hamlin, and a step brother, Patrick Chesnut. Her paternal grandparents, Bob and Joan Hamlin, Great grandmothers, Pauline Hamlin and Darlene Ball, as well as a step great grandmother, Jo Nell Greer.

Traci worked at Applebee's Restaurant in Lexington. She was enrolled in Asbury College working on her Elementary Education Degree. She was a member of the Marshes Siding Church of God. She loved being with family and friends. She especially loved spending time with her son Cade; they were just alike. Traci was loved by all who knew her and she made friends wherever she went. She will remain in our hearts until we hear her laugh again.

The family has requested that expressions of sympathy take the form of contributions to assist with expenses.
