Thomas Willard Creekmore, age 83, died suddenly of a heart attack at his home in California, Kentucky on or about May 3, 2007.
He was a member of the Second 12-Mile Baptist Church near his home where a memorial service was held in his honor on Tuesday, May 8, 2007. The Peoples Funeral Home of Butler, Kentucky was in charge of arrangements. A brief service for family and friends was held in McCreary County, Kentucky at the Pine Knot Funeral Home on Wednesday, May 9, 2007 at 11:00 a.m. Interment will be in the family plot at the Pine Knot Cemetery in Pine Knot, Kentucky.
Willard was born in Strunk, Kentucky on January 11, 1924, the son of the late Thomas Arthur and Dora Neal Creekmore. He graduated from McCreary County High School and Cumberland College before enlisting in the Naval Air Corp during World War II. After the war, he lived in Strunk until he moved to Covington, Kentucky, where he worked in a factory until retirement.
He is preceded in death by his parents and an older brother J.C. Creekmore and his wife Delores who lived in Ludlow, Kentucky. He is survived by two sisters, Anna Mary Creekmore of Strunk and Edna Creekmore Carman and husband Kenneth of Salina, Kansas.
