THELMA O. TAYLOR

Mrs. Thelma O. Taylor, age 88, of Pine Knot, passed away on Monday, October 9, 2006, at the McCreary Health and Rehabilitation Center in Pine Knot, Kentucky.

Funeral services were held Thursday, October 12,2006, in the chapel of Pine Knot Funeral Home with Rev. Stanley Taylor officiating. She was laid to rest in the Upper Marsh Creek Cemetery in Strunk, Kentucky.

Mrs. Taylor was born in McCreary County, on April 18, 1918, to the late Henry and Audrey Wood Lay. Besides her parents, those preceding her in death are her husband Grover Taylor who passed away on September 15, 1985, and two sons Othel Taylor who died in 1968 and Thurman Dale Taylor who died as an infant. Others that have gone on before her are two sisters Ferma Lovett and Alma Lay and a great grandson Tommy Lorenzo Clark.

Surviving family include a son Douglas Taylor and his wife Peggy, of Pine Knot and a brother Verlon Lay and his wife Shirley also of Pine Knot. There are five grandchildren and ten great grandchildren.

Mrs. Taylor had been a cook for the McCreary County School System for many years, working at Pine Knot Elementary. She was a member of the Old Lower Marsh Creek Church and enjoyed quilting, gardening, and sewing, especially making clothing.

Pine Knot Funeral Home assisted the family with funeral arrangements.
