THELMA O. LAY

Mrs. Thelma O. Lay of Pine Knot, Kentucky went to be with the Lord on Tuesday November 3, 2009 at the McCreary County Health and Rehabilitation Center in Pine Knot, Kentucky. She was 97 years and 9 days of age. She was born on October 25, 1912 in McCreary County Kentucky to the late Ben and Mae (Goodin) Cornelius. She was also preceded in death by her husband Lawrence Andrew Lay. She was a member of the Church of God.

She is survived by her three daughters, Bernice Blevins of Pine Knot, Kentucky, Mrs. Janet Stimmel and husband Carl of Westchester, Ohio and Mrs. Sharon Meadors and husband Jack of Pine Knot, Kentucky; her son, Rev. Lansford Lay and his wife Erna of Revelo, Kentucky; 9 grandchildren; 12 great grandchildren; two great-great grandchildren; two sisters, Mrs. Cevial Morgan of Strunk, Kentucky and Mrs. Geneva Lawson of Stearns ,Kentucky; many other close friends including the staff and employees at the McCreary County Health and Rehabilitation Center.

Visitation will be from 5 to 9 PM on Thursday, November 5, 2009 at the Pine Knot Funeral Home in Pine Knot, Kentucky.

Funeral Services will be at 1 P.M. on Friday, November 6, 2009 at the Pine Knot Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Landon Sexton officiating. Burial will follow in the Chitwood Cemetery in Pine Knot, Kentucky
