Teresa Kay Roe

Teresa Kay Roe age 58 of Strunk, Kentucky passed from this life on Saturday, September 7, 2024 at the Signature Healthcare of McCreary. 

She was born April 23, 1966 in Somerset, Kentucky to the late Rodney Chitwood and Sandra Sue (King) Chitwood. Her parents and a sister, Sonya Ball, precede her in death. 

Surviving family include her husband, Paul Roe whom she married June 22, 1996; a son, Ricky Chitwood (and Katrena); daughters, Tasha Chitwood Newman (and Chris) and Jamie Chitwood Frederick (and Jordon); grandchildren, Kaylee, Kyla, Kaleah, Noah, Isaiah, and Brynlee; a great-grandson, Coleson, 1 great-grandson on the way; and a special gal she loved as her own child, Mattie. 

Also surviving is a brother, Shannon Chitwood; sisters, Linda Vickery, Rhonda Taylor (and Rick), Pam Shoopman (and Jimmy) Rita Chitwood (and Crawford Duncan), Darlene Chitwood (and Jackie), and Stacey Bryant (and Earl); and several nieces and nephews that she loved so much. 

Teresa was of the Baptist Faith and had attended the Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church. She enjoyed being outdoors, hiking, fishing, and going jeep riding. Teresa was a homemaker not only by nature, but by heart. She loved caring for others and cooking big dinners. She was a fantastic cook. She loved her family and her grandbabies. Teresa will be very sadly missed. 

Funeral service will be held on Wednesday, September 11, 2024 at 2:00 pm in the chapel of Pine Knot Funeral Home with Bro. Braxton King officiating. Burial to follow in the Roe Family Cemetery. The family will receive friends for visitation on Wednesday after 12:00 noon until service time.
