Mr. Tea Jr. Meadors, age 64, passed away Saturday, March 4, 2006, at his home in Stearns, Kentucky, with his family by his side.
Funeral services were held Tuesday, March 7, 2006, at 2:00 p.m. at the Taylor Ridge United Baptist Church with Rev. Larry Vanover officiating. He was laid to rest in the Taylor Ridge Cemetery in Whitley City, Kentucky.
Mr. Meadors was born in McCreary County, on November 20, 1941, a son of the late Tea James and Luiney Troxell Meadors. Besides his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife of 38 years Mary Ann Bryant who passed away on May 27, 1998, a grandson, Thomas Lee Gooch, sister Loretta Meadows, a half brother Edd Meadows, a half sister Eileen Hamlin, and an infant sister.
Tea leaves behind two daughters Kimberly June Meadows (and Terry Watson) and Karen Ann Bell Meadows (and Robert L. Smith, life partner) of Stearns, five grandchildren, Ashley Dawn Gooch (and Michael Patton), James Brandon (and Amy Strunk), Jordan Michael and Eric Dewayne Strunk, and Daniel Allen Carroll, and two great grand children Ashlyn Page Patton and Madison Elaine Strunk. His brothers and sisters are Enos Victor Meadows (and Rose) of Stearns, Roscoe "Bud" Meadows (and wife Debbie) of Whitley City, and Ina Mae Cannada (and husband Darrell) of Whitley City. His half brothers and sisters are Larry Meadows (and Janie) of Whitley City, Ernest Meadows (and Wilma) of Wisconsin and Lonnie Meadows (and Linda Faye) of Whitley City, Wilma Hodge of Faubush and Joyce Massengale of Stearns. He also leaves behind a very special friend Virtie Mae Taylor and many nieces, nephews and other family and friends.
Tea was retired after working 21 years of for Norfolk Southern Railroad where he was a supervisor. He was a member of the Indian Creek United Baptist Church and enjoyed fishing and ginseging.
Pine Knot Funeral Home assisted the family with funeral arrangements.
