Stella Laxton

Mrs. Stella Laxton, age 70 of Pine Knot, passed away on Sunday November 23, 2008 at St. Joseph Hospital in Lexington.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday at 1pm at the East Pine Knot Tabernacle Church of God with Rev. William Kilby, Bro. Harold Baird, and Rev. Brent Stephens officiating. Burial will follow in the Upper Cal Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Tuesday even from 6-9 at Pine Knot Funeral Home. And her body will lie in state at the church after 10am Wednesday until time for services.

She was born in Pine Knot on June 20, 1938. She was the daughter of the late Fed and Hattie Mae King Stephens. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by a son, Troy Laxton, and a grandson, Dennis Richmond Jr. 4 brothers; Elma, Delmer, Eliphus and Roscoe and a half sister, Myrtle Wheeler.

Suvivors include her husband Tom, who she married on December 24, 1955. There are 2 sons: Thomas Laxton Jr of Pine Knot, and Anthony Laxton and his wife Theresa of Pine Knot. 5 daughters, Bonnie Meranda, Bethel, OH, Roberta Lovitt and her husband Donnie of Strunk, Pam Smith and her husband Jr. of Oneida, Peggy Kilby and her husband William of Pine Knot, and Geraldine Laxton of Pine Knot. There are 13 grandchildren, Chad Richmond, Donnie Keith Lovitt, Felcia Smith, Erica Douglas, Angela Roberts, Thomas Jeremy Laxton, Cyndi, Jeffers, Brandon Laxton, Jessica Kennedy, Joshua Shane Laxton, William Dee Kilby, Alex Kilby, and Kristen Kilby. There are 10 great grandchildren, Michael Todd, Destiny Laxton, Logan Lovitt, Mason Roberts, Austin Jeffers, Jeramiah Laxton, Wyatt Roberts, Elysia Jeffers, Kiara Kennedy, and Eli Tristen Smith. There is a brother, Elmer Stephens and his wife Norma and a sister, Betty Maynard and her husband Ernie.

Mrs. Laxton was a homemaker and a served her Lord as a member of the East Pine Knot Tabernacle Church of God.
