STANLEY JONES

Stanley Jones, age 62, of Whitley City, Kentucky, passed away Sunday, July 8, 2018, at the Jean Waddle Care Center in Somerset, Kentucky.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday, July 11, 2018,  at 2:00 p.m. at the Hilltop Church.  Burial will follow at the Sammy New Cemetery.  Visitation will be from 12:00 noon until time for services on Wednesday.

He was born March 20, 1956, in Stearns, Kentucky, to the late Fred Ardell and Effie (Watters) Jones.  Besides his parents, he is preceded in death by two brothers: Clyde Jones and Lawrence Jones and an infant sister, Imogene Jones.

Surviving family include his companion of 32 years, Ella Mae Matthews, his daughter, Michelle Matthews of Stearns, a very special granddaughter, Brooklyn Matthews of Whitley City, two sisters: Viola Maxwell of Norwood, Ohio, and Christine Penticuff of Monticello, two brothers: Ardell (and Tonya) Jones of Stearns and Carl Jones of Whitley City, along with several nieces and nephews.

Stanley had done factory work, carpentry and worked in tobacco.  He enjoyed working on lawn mowers and fishing.  He will be sadly missed by all that knew and loved him.
