SHIRLEY SUE EVANS

Shirley Sue Evans entered into peaceful rest on Saturday, June 2, 2007. She was 66 years old.

Shirley was born in Exodus, Kentucky, on June 10, 1940, the daughter of the late leamon and Gladys vanover Stephens.

Celebration of Life services were held Monday, June 4, 2007, at Pine Knot Funeral Home. She was laid to rest at the higginbotham Cemetery in Whitley City, Kentucky.

In passing, Shirley joins her beloved husband Bob to whom she was married for 45 years. Bob left us less than two years ago and don't you know that was a joyous reunion of two people who loved each other as dearly as anyone could! She is also preceded in death by two brothers Clarence and Lawrence Stephens and two sisters Lois Bryant and Clara Smith daugherty.

Shirley made her home in Pine Knot, but for the past few months, had been a resident of Hillcrest Nursing Home in Corbin.

Shirley and Bob are survived by their only daughter Bobbie and their precious granddaughters Hannah and Halley.

Bobbie is married to Trevor reiten and they live in Andover, Minnesota. Bobby Ray Stephens of Pine Knot is the only surviving brother.

Shirley was a homemaker, had been a hairdresser and had been a member of the Victory Baptist Church. She belonged to the Vietnam Veteran Wives Support Group and the South Eastern Kentucky Gospel Music Association. Shirley was a mentor to everyone she met. If there was a suggestion to be made, you could count on her to make it. The world lost a special person on Saturday, but Heaven gained an angel who everyone can call "Aunt Shirley".
