Mrs. Shirley Faye Chambers, age 67 of Strunk, Kentucky, passed away Saturday July 12, 2014 at Baptist Health Lexington in Lexington, Kentucky.
Funeral services will be Tuesday, July 15, 2014 at 8:00 p.m. at Pine Knot Funeral Home. Visitation will be from 5:00 pm until funeral time. Graveside services will be at 11:00 am Wednesday July 16, 2014 at Silersville Cemetery.
Shirley was born June 3, 1947, to the late Chester and Gladys (Davis) King. Besides her parents, she is preceded in death by two brothers; Don and Arnold King and two sisters, Sandra Sue Chitwood and Patsy Worley.
Surviving family include her husband Granville Chambers of Strunk, Kentucky, two sons; Chuck (and Dovie) Chambers, Pine Knot and Michael (and Teresa) Chambers, Oneida, Tennessee, four daughters; Angie (and David) Branstetter, Deer Lodge, Tennessee, Kim Chambers, Pine Knot, Tonya (and Rick) Corder, Somerset, Kentucky, and Brandi Chambers (and Caleb Laxton), Oneida, Tennessee, five brothers; Gene King, Ronnie King, Charles (and Imogene) King, Lynn (and Darla) King, and Denvil King, and four sisters; Kathy (and Richard) Crabtree, Patricia (and Wilburn) Heath, Gail (and Roger) King, and Gwenna (and Anthony) Byrd. She had a very special friend Luther Duncan (and the late Betty).
Shirley and Granville were blessed with 12 grandchildren and she loved her dog, Bruiser.
Shirley had worked as a teacher’s aide for the McCreary County Schools and was a member of the Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church. She enjoyed cooking and taking care of others. She was a special friend to many and always put their needs before her own.
