SHELBY JEAN GENOE

Shelby Jean Genoe, of Strunk, Kentucky, passed away Friday, July 22, 2011, at her home on the Round Top Road.

Funeral services will be held Sunday, July 24, 2011, at 1:00 p.m. in the chapel of Pine Knot Funeral Home with Rev. Jim Cox and Bro. Bill Clark officiating. She will be laid to rest at the Smith Cemetery on Round Top Road in Strunk. Visiting hours will be on Saturday from 6 a€" 9 p.m. at the funeral home.

Born October 25, 1962, she was the daughter of Hugh Preston and Norma Jean Laxton Meadows who precede her in death. On January 19, 1981, she was united in marriage to Allen Genoe. Altogether, they have four children Jacob (and Alisha) Genoe of Whitley City, Brittney Genoe of Strunk, Allen Genoe, Jr. (and Jaime) of Cincinnati and Melissa Deronda (and Mike) of Cincinnati.

Shelby has five brothers; Roy Lee (and Judy) Meadows of Indianapolis, Hugh David Meadows of Pine Knot, Steven Wayne Meadows of Pine Knot, Roger Dale Meadows of Indianapolis and Jimmy Dean (and Wendy) Summers of Huntsville, Tennessee, and three; Charlotte Elaine (and Gary) Coffey of Stearns, Marilyn Sue (and Jimmy) Garza of Indianapolis and Treasa Gail (and William) Clark of Stearns.

Shelby had worked as a cook and manager for the Dairy Bar in Whitley City for 25 years until she was no longer able to work. She was a member of the Ross Grove United Baptist Church. She enjoyed spending time with her family, and grandchildren was her most precious gift
