Sharon Rose Jones age 70 of Strunk, Kentucky passed from this life on Saturday, April 13, 2024 at the Jean Waddle Care Center in Somerset, Kentucky.
She was born December 21, 1953 in McCreary County, Kentucky to the late Chester E. King and Della (King) King. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her step-mother, Maimie King; brothers, Paul and Rodney King.
Surviving family include her daughter, Shonda Lee Jones of Strunk, KY and her father, Chuck Jones; grandchildren, Sean Westley Thompson, Megan Thompson, and Makayla Isaacs; and her first great-grandchild due to arrive in July.
Also surviving is a brother, Jackie King of Strunk, KY; step-sisters, Pam Wilson and Linda Lay Ross, both of Strunk, KY; a special niece, Jazlyn Skye Bailey; nieces, Amber King, Jacklyn King, and Ashley King; nephews, Timothy King and Darren King; and a host of other great nieces, nephews, and family that she loved so dearly.
Sharon had been a school cook in past time and she was of the Baptist faith. She was a natural born care giver, always enjoyed helping and giving to others. Sharon also enjoyed listening to country music as well as gospel singing and preaching on television. Sharon loved her family so very much, especially her grandchildren.
Funeral service will be held on Wednesday, April 17, 2024 at 1:00 in the chapel of Pine Knot Funeral Home with Bro. Donnie Jones officiating. Burial to follow in the Jones Cemetery. The family will receive friends for visitation on Wednesday after 12:00 noon until service time.
