SARAH M. HAMLIN

Ms. Sarah M. Hamlin, age 78, of Strunk, Kentucky, passed away Sunday, March 20, 2011, at St. Mary's Medical Center in Oneida, Tennessee.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 2:00 p.m. in chapel of Pine Knot Funeral Home with Rev. Doug Sexton officiating. She will be laid to rest at the Alsile Cemetery. Visitation will be Tuesday evening from 6 a€" 9 p.m. at the funeral home.

Ms. Hamlin was born in Whitley County, Kentucky, on March 13, 1933 to the late Ora Milton and Bessie Elizabeth Sharp Jones. Besides her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband John Hamlin who passed away in 1999, a brother Charlie Jones, a sister Rachel Paul and three infant sisters Mary, Joyce Ann and Lois Edna Jones. Surviving family include a brother L.B. Jones of Englewood, Ohio, and three sisters Ethel Cogdill of Somerset, Naomia Brown of Waynesville, Ohio and Roberta King of Strunk. She has two step-sons Leslie Hamlin of Revelo and Larry Hamlin of Stearns.

Ms. Hamlin was a homemaker and member of the New Hope Baptist Church. She had been a cook at the Dipsey Doodle Restaurant in Pine Knot years ago. She loved and was loved very much and will be greatly missed.
