SALLY MURPHY

Ms. Sally Murphy, age 90, of Strunk, Kentucky, passed from this life on Wednesday, December 12, 2012 at the McCreary Health and Rehabilitation Center in Pine Knot.

Funeral services were held Saturday, December 15, at 1:00 p.m. in the chapel of Pine Knot Funeral Home with Rev. Harold Rollins and Bro. Doug Stephens officiating. Special music was by Jennifer Murphy. She was laid to rest at the Jones Cemetery.

Ms. Murphy was a homemaker and member of the Silerville Baptist Church. She had worked at McCreary Manufacturing in Stearns. She enjoyed gardening, growing flowers and quilting.

Born January 4, 1922, in McCreary County, Kentucky, she was the daughter of the late Wilburn and Rachel (Jones) Miller. Besides her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband James Ola Murphy who died in 1995, a daughter Barbara Murphy Vahles, two brothers Ernest and Walter Miller, three sisters; Allie Baker, Alma Cordell, and Betty Todd and a granddaughter Rosalee Schulkers.

Surviving family include one son Ronnie Murphy and his wife Betty of Pine Knot, three grandchildren; Paula Braden, Emily Phillips and Wesley Murphy, six great grandchildren,two sisters Lora Mae Murphy of Pine Knot, KY, and Pauline "Toots" Wilson, Strunk, KY, and a brother Harrison "Buster" Miller of Virginia.
