SADIE CORDELL

Sadie Cordell, age 80 of Revelo, passed away Friday December 3, 2010 at Lake Cumberland Regional Hospital in Somerset.

Funeral services will be held on Sunday December 5,2010 at 2:30pm in the chapel of Pine Knot Funeral Home with Rev. David Troxell officiating. Burial will follow in the Lower Hickory Grove Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Saturday from 6-9pm at the funeral home.

Sadie was born in Pine Knot, Kentucky on April 12, 1930. She is the daughter of the late Ed Joseph and Martha Anderson Kidd. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Loyd "Pete" Cordell, who died in 1993, a son David Cordell, and a daughter Penny Carter. David and Penny passed away on 2008. A brother, Bernard Kidd and 2 sisters, Ada Stephens, and Beulah Joyce Lowe also preceded her in passing.

Survivors include a son Eddie Cordell of Revelo, KY and a daughter, Melissa Stanley and her husband Sterling of Tunnell Hill, GA. There is a sister, Nancy Murphy of Revelo. Sadie has 10 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren also surviving.

Sadie had most recently worked as a cook at Stearns Elementary School. She had previously worked at Ila's Restaurant in Whitley City, Ben Franklins and worked for more than 29 years at the former McCreary Manufacturing. She was a member of the Lower Hickory Grove United Baptist Church.

Pine Knot Funeral Home is assisting the family of Sadie Cordell in her funeral arrangements.
