RUTH ANN LAY

Ruth Ann Lay, age 72, of Dickson, Tennessee, passed away Friday, November 22, 2019, at the Alive Hospice Care Center in Nashville, Tennessee.

She was born on February 18, 1947, in Marshes Siding, Kentucky, to the late Billy and Mary Vanover Bryant.  Besides her parents, she is preceded in death by four brothers: Eugene, Bill, Sam, and Bob Bryant and four sisters: Geraldine Morris, Sue Tapley, Erma Ball and Linda LaFavers.

Surviving family include her husband, Brian Lay whom she married November 16, 1966, their children: Scottie Lay of Pine Knot, Roger Lay (and Lynn) of Lebanon, Tennessee, Melissa Lay of Dickson, Tennessee, and Renee Morrow (and Shawn) of Monticello, Kentucky, their grandchildren: Brandi Williams, Bobby Lay, Mary Ann DeLoach, Kirsten Lay, Harley Lay, and Alyssa Cornette, and six great grandchildren (and one on the way).

Surviving brothers and sisters are: Jay Bryant (and Susie) of Stearns, Kentucky, Lloyd Bryant (and Brenda) of Florida, Gerald Bryant of Marshes Siding, Kentucky, and Maxine Hison (and Harry ) of Homosassa, Florida.

Ruth Ann was a homemaker and member of the Fort Donaldson Pentecostal Church of God.  She enjoyed gardening and flowers.  She loved to cook and sew.  She enjoyed swimming and being at the pool and exercising with her friends. She is sadly missed by her loving family and all her friends.  

Funeral services will be at 3:00 p.m., Monday, November 25, 2019, in the chapel of Pine Knot Funeral Home with Bro. Jerry Moore and Bro. Tommy Bonner officiating.  Burial to follow at the Lay Family Cemetery in Pine Knot.

Visitation will be Monday from 12:00 noon until time for funeral services at 3:00 p.m.
