Ruth Kidd

Ruth (West) Kidd, age 88, of Salem, Alabama, passed from this life on Saturday, May 18, 2019.

She was born in Strunk, Kentucky on August 9, 1930 the daughter of Oscar Jerry and Nellie Marie (Hill) West.

Her parents; husband, Denver Gene Kidd; sisters, Ruby Litton and Betty Porter precede her in death.

Survivors include her daughter, Kathy Diane Barnes and husband Hupert P. Jr of Smith’s Station, Alabama; son Michael Gene Kidd and wife, Barbara of Ramstien-Miesenbach, Germany; sisters, Wilda Stanley of Strunk; and Shirley Braden of Winfield; brothers, Oscar West, Jr of Cincinnati and Jack West of Williamsburg, Ohio; grandchildren, Michelle Shedd and husband, Philip Jason, Amanda Norman and husband, Andrew Brent, Jessica L Rozman and husband, Kell and Christopher Kidd; great grandchildren, Brianna Wells and husband, Christopher Daniel, Kaleigh Laughlin and husband, Sgt. Renz Jeremie, Curtis Jason Shedd, Evelyn Gene Norman, and Ansley Opal Norman; great-great grandchildren, Aspen Lee Laughlin, Madeline Diane Wells, and Maddox Lewis Wells.

Funeral service will be held on Saturday, May 25, 2019 at 1:00 pm in the chapel of the Pine Knot Funeral Home. Burial will follow in the Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends after 11:00 am on Saturday at the funeral home.
