ROSE MARIE STEVENS

Rose Marie Stevens, age 55, passed away Thursday, September 12, 2013, at her home in Stearns.

Funeral services will be held Sunday, September 15, 2013, at 1:00 p.m. at the Pleasant Ridge United Baptist Church with Rev. Tom Abbott and Rev. Mitchell Bunch officiating. Burial will be at the Rose Garden Family Cemetery. The family will receive friends Saturday after 6:00 at the church.

Rose was a homemaker and member of the Word of God Church in Jesus Name.

She was born on February 6, 1958, in Fort Wayne, Indiana. She was the daughter of Willie Edward and Maxine Kelly (Potter) Swangin. Her mother precedes her in death. She is also preceded in death by a brother James Swangin.

Surviving family include her husband Herbert Stevens of Stearns, her father Willie Edward Swangin, Pine Knot, two sons Paul Marshall Stevens (and Roxanne) of Stearns, and Jessie Micheal Stevens (and Jessica) of Chatsworth, Georgia, two daughters; Lisa Marie Smith (and James) of Dayton, Tennessee and Maxine Ella Winchester (and Ryan) of Stearns. She has a brother, John David Swangin of Stearns and sisters; Lois Ooten, Dayton, Kentucky, Barb Lowe, Stearns, Helen J Seigler (and Troy E.), Middlesboro, Angie Lloyd, LaFollette, Tennessee, Joann Walden, Lafollette, Louend Wright, LaFollette, Virginia Swangin, Pine Knot, and Arizona Swangin, of Pine Knot. She also has a sister and brother Deborah, Tommy and Jerry Skeens of Houston, Texas. Rose and Herbert were blessed with 13 grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
