Roland Lee Genoe, age 55, of Whitley City, Kentucky, passed from this life on Friday, July 25, 2015, at the Lake Cumberland Regional Hospital in Somerset, Kentucky.
Roland had been a truck driver for Scott Solid Waste for some 18 years. He was a member of the Hilltop Missionary Baptist Church. He enjoyed motorcycles and fast cars and always tinkering with his old Chevy and Firebird. Most of all, he cherished the time he spent with his grandchildren.
Born in Pine Knot, Kentucky, on February 5, 1960, he was the son of the late Bob Davis Genoe and Mildred (Ball) Tinch. Besides his parents, he is preceded in death by two brothers: Bob and Wayne Genoe, two sisters: Kay Stephens and Melissa Robbin Genoe.
Surviving family include two daughters: Cynthia Meadows of Indiana and Kristin Duncan (husband Darren) of Winfield, Tennessee, and a son Shaun Fry (wife Beth) of Winfield, three brothers: Conan Genoe (wife Debbie) of Revelo, Kentucky, Allen Genoe of Strunk, Kentucky and Farron Genoe (wife Debbie) of Strunk, six sisters: Linda Stephens of Pine Knot, Debbie Genoe of Pine Knot, Rebecca Mayberry (husband Rick) of Wartburg, Tennessee, Kimberly Genoe of Revelo, Tonya Anderson (husband Bradley) of Helenwood, Tennessee, and Regina Stanley (husband Eddie) of Strunk, and eight precious grandchildren.
Funeral services: Tuesday, July 28, 2015, at 1:00 p.m. at Pine Knot Funeral Home
Visitation: Monday from 6:00 – 9:00 at the funeral home
Burial: Smith Cemetery, Strunk, Kentucky.
