Robert George Specht

Robert "Bob" George Specht age 69 of Pine Knot, Kentucky passed from this life on Saturday, February 10, 2024 at the Baptist Health of Corbin.

He was born March 13, 1954 in Casper, Wyoming to the late William Specht and Helen Betty (Cook) Specht. 

Surviving family include his wife, Kimberly Ann (Ball) Specht whom he married, April 11, 1998; a son, Stephen "Steve" Specht of Colorado; daughters, Barbara Johnson of Pine Knot, Genny Allen (and Brandon) of Colorado, and Cherie Specht (and Ricky) of Colorado; step-children whom he loved as his own, Laura Richardson (and Troy) of Buffalo, KY and Tad Dolen of Hazard, KY; and grandchildren, Maya, Emma Kali, Kaiden, Ryker, Beckham, Sean, Ellie, Noah, Jacob, and Emma LeeAnn. 

Also surviving is a brother, William Specht and a sister, Elizabeth Specht, both of Casper, Wyoming; and many other extended family and friends who loved Bob dearly. 

Bob made a career as a Geologist, having received a Bachelor's degree from the University of Wyoming. He enjoyed nature, searching and studying rocks and understanding the structures of the earth. Bob was of the Presbyterian faith and through his belief, he also shared the same desire for discoveries. Bob enjoyed following Ron Wyatt, a respected biblical archaeologist, who like Bob, enjoyed seeking Biblical clues to show the world the fact of God. In his own personal life, he was a huge Wyoming Cowboys sports fan. Basketball, football, the men's team or women's, it didn't matter, he enjoyed it all. Bob was a very loved "papa". At home, he would create treasure hunts for the grandchildren, and it was no secret he was known for giving the best prizes. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him. 

In keeping of his wishes, Cremation was chosen. A Memorial service will be held on Thursday, February 15, 2024 at 2:00 pm in the chapel of Pine Knot Funeral Home. The family will receive friends for visitation on Thursday after 1:00. Following the service, Bob will be placed in the Pine Knot Cemetery. 

In lieu of flowers, the family would like to ask that donations be made to the funeral home to assist with the remaining expenses.
