RINDA KING

Ms. Rinda King, of the Mt. Pleasant Community in Strunk, Kentucky, passed away Saturday, July 30, 2011, at the Oneida Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. She had attained the age of 92 years, 10 months and 7 days.

Funeral services will be held Friday, August 5, 2011, at 12:00 p.m. in the chapel of Pine Knot Funeral Home with Rev. J.C. Reynolds and Rev. Norman Burke officiating. Burial will be at the Duncan Family Cemetery in the Mt. Pleasant community. The family will receive friends Friday from 10:00 a.m. until funeral service time.

Born in McCreary County, Kentucky, on September 23, 1918, she was the daughter of the late William Harvey and Mary Jane Swain Clark. Besides her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband Virgil Prince King, and all her brothers and sisters: Charles, Fred, William and Daniel Clark, Ellen Stephens, and Ruby Lee. She is also preceded in death by a step-daughter Ester Belcher, and three nieces and nephews.

Surviving family include four grandchildren, 19 nieces and nephews.

Ms. King was a member of the Mt. Pleasant United Baptist Church. She had worked as a store clerk and was a baby sitter. She was known for her rugs that she would spin to sell, sewing, crocheting and she enjoyed gardening.
