RICHARD W. STEPHENS

Mr. Richard Walter Stephens, age 77, of Pine Knot, Kentucky, passed away Tuesday, April 6, 2010, at the Lake Cumberland Regional Hospital in Somerset.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, April 10, 2010 at 2:00 p.m. in the chapel of Pine Knot Funeral Home with Reverends Wendell Hill and Daniel Ridener officiating. He will be laid to rest at the Upper Cal Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends Friday evening from 6 - 9 p.m. at the funeral home.

Richard was born in Pine Knot on December 9, 1932, to the late Floyd and Myrtle Rowe Stephens. He is also predeceased by a brother Herman Stephens and three sisters Rieva Stephens, Georgie Farmer, and Eva Moore. Surviving family include his six sons Richard Wayne, Jeffery Lynn, Lonnie Edward and Donald Lee Stephens, William Ray Aull and Ray Hughes, all of Pine Knot. Two brothers survive; Donald and Ledford Stephens both of Pine Knot and there are five surviving sisters; Edna Wright, Noneda Barentt, Kathleen Campbell, and Irene Stephens, all of Pine Knot, and Myria Bradley of Sidney, Ohio. Richard had 11 grandchildren and one great grandchild.

Richard attended the Sulfur Springs Baptist Church and was a United States Army veteran.
