Phyllis Ridner, age 63, of Parkers Lake, Kentucky, passed away Thursday, February 17, 2011, at the Central Baptist Hospital in Lexington.
Funeral services will be held Monday, February 21, 2011, at 11:00 a.m. in the chapel of Pine Knot Funeral Home with Bro. Jeff Brown, Bro. Wade Heath and Bro. Daniel Ridener officiating. Serving as pallbearers will be Rick Morgan, Mike Morgan, Mike Ridner, Wesley Ridner, Doug Ridener, Jeremy Ridener, Leon Vanover, B.J. Goins and Roger Bennett Burial will be at the Rock Branch Cemetery. The family will receive friends Sunday evening from 6 a" 9 p.m. at the funeral home.
Born January 18, 1948, in McCreary County, she was the daughter of the late William Garland and Maudie Logan Owens. Others preceding her in death is a daughter Melissa Ridner, a sister Joyce Morgan, and two brothers Dewey Starlin and Eric Eugene Owens. Surviving family include her husband of 43 years Norman "Ted" Ridner whom she married May 13, 1967, a daughter Nancy Lynn Head of Louisville, a son Douglas (Dougen) Ridner (and Melissa) of Parkers Lake, a brother Mitchell Garland Owens of Finley, Ohio, a sister Linda Head (and James) of Parkers Lake, a brother-in-law Clarence Morgan of Parkers Lake and four grandchildren Kyle, Devyn, Bryson, and Keshia.
Mrs. Ridner was a homemaker and member of the Sawyer Baptist Church. She enjoyed singing and playing the guitar, crocheting, and sewing. She loved flowers and her grandchildren. Her latest hobby was playing Farmville and other computer games.
