PAULINE HAMLIN

Ms. Pauline Hamlin, passed from this life on Thursday, February 05, 2015, at her home in Pine Knot, Kentucky at the age of 87 years, 3 months and 24 days.

She was born in McCreary County on October 11, 1927, to the late Samson and Ellen (Caddell) Strunk.  She is also preceded in death by her husband Oscar J. Hamlin who passed away in 1976, a son Raymon Hamlin, and three brothers; Lee Strunk, Earl Strunk and Lawrence Strunk.

Surviving family include a son Eddie Hamlin (and Karen) of Williamsburg, a daughter-in-law Jeanie Hamlin of Ashboro, North Carolina, grandchildren; Amy Smith, Lori Simmons and Brian Hamlin, great-grandchildren; Maggie Allred, Taylor Higgins, Kasey Higgins, a great-great granddaughter Emma Boggs and a sister Lena Morgan of Pine Knot.

 Pauline had owned a couple fabric shops, worked at the laundromat and had been a cook for the McCreary County Schools.  She also worked as a caregiver for children.  She enjoyed sewing, growing flowers, gardening and her birds. 

Funeral services were held Saturday, February 7, 2015, at 5:00 p.m. in the chapel of Pine Knot Funeral Home with Bro. Daniel Ridener officiating.  She was laid to rest at the Bethel Cemetery.  Serving as pallbearers were Eddie Hamlin, Billy Simmons, Jonathan Strunk, Travis Strunk, Chad Clark and Ronnie Clark.  .
