Orvil Lee Stephens

Orvil Lee Stephens age 72 of Pine Knot, Kentucky passed from this life Friday, June 11, 2021 at his home in Strunk, Kentucky.

He was born July 25, 1948 in Winfield, Tennessee to the late Thomas Melvin Stephens and Dorothy Opal (Perry) Stephens. In addition to his parents, Orvil is preceded in death by his grandson, Devon; brothers, Edward and Kenneth Stephens; infant sisters, Debra Ruth and Phyllis Ann; and brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law that he loved dearly. 

Surviving family include his wife, Katherine (Taylor) Stephens whom he married, December 25, 1968; a son, Randall Stephens (wife, April); a daughter, Lisa Hutson, all of Strunk; brothers, Roscoe Stephens (wife, Drenda), Burtis Stephens, TIm Stephens (wife, Carolyn), Phillip Stephens (wife, Terri) all of Strunk, and Tommy Stephens (wife, Gertie), of Jellico, Kentucky; and sisters, Wanda Johnson of Pine Knot, and Judy Baird Campbell (husband, Bill) of Jamestown, Kentucky. 

Also surviving are Orvil's grandchildren, Brandon (wife, Tawnie), Kaylee, Aleyah, Kenzlee, and Gavin; and great-grandchildren, Aubrey and Kason.

Orvil was of the Baptist faith and was a carpenter of trade. He enjoyed fishing and hunting, but above all things, he enjoyed being with his family. Orvil will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved him. 

Funeral services will be held on Monday, June 14, 2021 at 1:00 pm in the chapel of Pine Knot Funeral Home with Bro. Daniel Trammell and Bro. Dennis Neal officiating. Burial is to follow in the Hayes Creek Cemetery. The family will receive friends for visitation on Monday after 11:00 am until service time at the funeral home.
