Mr. Oren C. "Rex" Rexroat, age 77, of Indianapolis, Indiana, passed away March 7, 2006 at the Methodist Hospital in Indianapolis.
Graveside funeral services will be held on Wednesday, March 15, 2006, at 2:30 p.m. at the Angel Cemetery in Stearns, Kentucky. The family will receive friends from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. in the chapel of Pine Knot Funeral Home.
He was born in Monticello, Kentucky on April 23, 1928, the son of the late William and Beartha Arthur Rexroat. Also preceding him in death are brothers Lonnie Rexroat, Power Coomer and Oliver Rexroat and sisters Bonnie Massingale, Zona May, Della Arthur and Olive Rexroat and granddaughter, Rebecca Grundy.
Mr. Rexroat and his wife owned the Pine Knot Laundromat. He drove for City Crome Plating for many years in Indiana and owned and operated the Detour Bar until his retirement. Prior to that he sold cars for several automotive companies.
He was married to Anna Troxell Rexroat and they had three sons, Robert Frank, Oren Clay Jr. "Bussy" and Oliver J. Rexroat and four daughters Zona Mae Mitchell (and Terry) Debbie Rexroat, Olive K. Rexroat and Julia Ann Grundy (and "Eddie"). His sister is Polly Hussar. There are 15 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren.
Pine Knot Funeral Home assisted the family with local funeral arrangements.
