Myrna Avis Buffum

Myrna A. Buffum age 61 went to be with the Lord on July 23, 2019 at her home in Strunk, KY with her family by her side after a long battle with breast cancer. 

She was born October 20, 1957 in Jamestown, Tennessee to the late W. Kenneth “Kenny” Myers and Nina C. Myers. In addition to her parents, Myrna is preceded in death by her sister Trella I. Myers; her father and mother-in-law John H. and Rosa E. Daugherty; a step daughter Opal “Missy” Perry; and a sister-in-law Tammy (Thomas) Roberts.
 
Myrna is survived by her husband David Daugherty of Strunk, KY; her daughters Heather (Kevin) Berryhill of Corunna, IN and Holly Buffum of Lexington, KY; a sister Linda Bruce of LaFallotte, TN; a brother Terry Brewster of Robbins, TN; two step daughters Staci Daugherty of Strunk, KY and Pamela (Josh) Jones of Stearns, KY; 12 grandchildren and 1 great-grandchild.  

Myrna is also survived by brothers-in-law Tim Daugherty and Jimmy (Angie) Daugherty, all of Strunk, KY, sisters-in-law Debbie (Larry) Taylor of Strunk, KY, and Barbara (Ronnie) Kidd of Pine Knot, KY.

Myrna graduated from Kokomo High School, Kokomo, IN. She later attained her Associate's Degree in Business Management from Somerset Community College. She was employed at several retail stores including her latest employment at Save-A-Lot in Whitley City, KY where she served as Assistant Manager. When she was not working she enjoyed fishing in the pond by her house, gardening, and spending time with her family and many grandchildren. She was a wonderful daughter, sister, mother, grandmother, and friend. She was always ready lend an ear and give honest advice.  

Funeral service will be held on Saturday, July 27, 2019 at 2:00 pm in the chapel of Pine Knot Funeral Home with Rev. Tom Caldwell officiating. Burial to follow in the Brewstertown Cemetery in Robbins, Tennessee. The family will receive for visitation after 12:00 noon until service time. 

In lieu of flowers please make donations in her honor to Hospice of Lake Cumberland in Somerset, KY.
