MODEANA STEPHENS

Mrs. Modeana Stephens, age 83, of Rising Sun, Maryland, passed away Tuesday, August 17, 2010, at the Harford Memorial Hospital in Havre de Grace, Maryland.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, August 21, 2010 at 1:00 p.m. in the chapel of Pine Knot Funeral Home with Bro. Wayne Trout officiating. The family will receive friends Saturday from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. Burial will be at the Lower Cal Hill Cemetery in Pine Knot.

Born March 3, 1927, in Russell Springs, Kentucky, she was the daughter of the late John and Ella Brockman. Besides her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Claude C. Stephens who died in 1984. A sister Odean Peyton and infant brother John Luther Brockman Jr. Surviving family include two daughters, Pam(and Jerry) Thomas of Oneida, Tennessee, and Judi (and Kevin) Hopper of North East, Maryland, and six sons: David (and Nova) Stephens of Pine Knot, Frank (and Phyllis) Stephens of Perryville, Maryland, Michael (and B.J.) Stephens of Pine Knot, Carl (and Penny) Stephens of Wilmore, Kentucky, Gregory (and Jo) Stephens of North East, Maryland, and Warren Keith (and Dottie) Stephens of Rising Sun. There is one sister Alverta Stephens of Russell Springs, 12 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren.

Mrs. Stephens was a homemaker and a member of the First United Pentecostal Church of North East, Maryland. Her main interest in life was serving God and caring for her family who says that she was a wonderful devoted mother and an excellent cook.
