Mildred Whitehead Martin

Ms. Mildred Whitehead Martin, age 63, of Pine Knot, Kentucky, passed away Thursday, October 12, 2006, at the Brithaven Nursing Home in Somerset, Kentucky.

Funeral services were held Saturday, October 14, 2006, at 1:00 p.m., in the chapel of Pine Knot Funeral Home with Rev. David Troxell officiating. Burial was in the Corder Cemetery.

She was born February 16, 1943, to the late James and Margaret Garland Whitehead. Also preceding her in death is her husband Wilburn Martin, a son Charlie Banner, a daughter Blanco Banner, five brothers Burl, Hubert, Sylvester, Roy Roger and Russell Whitehead and two sisters Mary Hester and Zella Whitehead Vaughn.

Surviving family are two daughters Loretta Howell Case and Betty Martin. There are two surviving brothers Thomas and S.D. Whitehead and a sister Truie Ellen Whitehead Lynch. She has four grandchildren.

Mildred was a homemaker and had been a home health aide. She enjoyed needle work, quilting, flowers and yard sales and flea marketing.

Pine Knot Funeral Home assisted the family with funeral arrangements.
