Michael "Mike" Perry

Michael “Mike” Perry age 61 of Whitley City, Kentucky passed from this life on Wednesday, December 30, 2020 at the Baptist Health of Corbin.

He was born July 12, 1959 in Whitley City, Kentucky to the late George Perry and June (Berry) Perry. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by an infant son, Rodney Perry. 

Surviving family include his wife, Rhonda (Duncan) Perry whom he married, October 24, 1982; daughters, Nikki Perry (Curtis Crabtree) of Pine Knot, Jennifer Vaughn (Eric) of Whitley City, Amanda Hellweg (Jason) of Whitley City, and Tabitha Cox (Don) of Pine Knot; a son, Kyle Perry (Kayla) of Whitley City; brothers, Eddie Perry of Pine Knot, Rick Perry (Brenda) of Stearns, Gary Perry (Cathy) of Whitley City, and David Perry of Whitley City; sisters, Linda Sellers (Gary) of Pine Knot, Brenda Perry of Pine Knot, and Charlotte Sumner (Lonnie) of Pine Knot; and special friends, Doc and Portia Winchester, George "Buddy" Wilson, and Terry "Tank" Lawson. 

Also surviving are Mike's grandchildren, whom he loved more than they know, Zac Perry, Aden Vaughn, Hunter Vaughn, Trenton Helbert, Weston Cox, Ryleigh Hellweg, Paxton Cox, Colton Vaughn, Jacob Perry, Braelynn Hellweg, Hannah Perry, Emma Perry, Rebecca Crabtree, and Kholson Crabtree. 

Mike was a longtime member of the Marshes Siding Church of God. He was very active within the church, always lending a helping hand and taking a large role in vacation bible school. At home, he enjoyed fishing, taking walks, and working. Mike loved his family and was the most proud of his children and grandchildren. He took much pride in playing a major role in their lives, always wanting the best for them and letting them know they are loved so dearly. 

Funeral service will be held on Sunday, January 3, 2021 at 12:00 noon in the chapel of Pine Knot Funeral Home with Bro. Hurstle Daugherty, Bro. Finley Vaughn, Bro. Harry Waters, and Bro. Cody Canada officiating. Burial to follow in the Barren Fork Cemetery. The family will receive friends for visitation on Saturday after 6:00 pm until 9:00 pm at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, the family has asked that donations please be made to the funeral home to assist with remaining funeral expenses.
