MELISSA RENEE SPRADLIN

Melissa Renee Spradlin, age 38, passed away Wednesday, November 16, 2011, at her home in Pine Knot.

Funeral services will be held Sunday at 2:00 p.m. in the chapel of Pine Knot Funeral Home with Rev. Harvey Logan, Rev. Jeff Bryant and Bro. Jim Bowman officiating. Burial will be at the Howard and Tellina Memorial Gardens at Strunk. The family will receive friends Saturday from 6 a€" 9 p.m. at the funeral home.

Born September 6, 1973, in Whitley City, Kentucky, she was the daughter of Robert and Mary Lou Hicks Spradlin. Renee was a homemaker and attended the Hayes Creek Church of God. She enjoyed camping, fishing, flying and being outdoors in general. She also loved photography.

Surviving family include her son Cameran Howard Spradlin of Pine Knot, mother Mary Spradlin of Strunk, Kentucky, her father Robert Spradlin of Williamsburg, a brother Darrel Dewayne Spradlin of Winfield, Tennessee, a sister Marie Spradlin of Strunk, and a niece Chasity Danielle Spradlin also of Strunk. Renee's grandparents were Howard and Tellina Spradlin and Curtis and Minnie Hicks, all deceased. Her aunts and uncles are Clifford Hicks, Betty (and the late Roger) Hicks, Hural and Julia Spradlin, Sue and Darrell Stephens, Anna and Randy Bryant, Virginia (and the late Edward) Bryant, Louise (and the late Sylvester) Duncan. She had two very special friends; Cynthia Blevins whom she called "Sis" and Tony Ball who had been a friend for many years.
