Mary Evelyn Neal

Mary Evelyn Neal, age 79, of Strunk, Kentucky, passed away Thursday, August 18, 2016, at the Lake Cumberland Regional Hospital in Somerset, Kentucky.

Funeral services will be held on Sunday, August 21, 2016, at 3:00 p.m. in the chapel of the Pine Knot Funeral Home with Bro. Ronnie Peters, Bro. William Kilby, Bro. Bill Murphy, and Bro. Dan Ridener,  officiating. She will be laid to rest at the Pine Knot Cemetery.

Born March 2, 1937, in Pine Knot, she was the daughter of the late Oda and Pearl (Stephens) Cooper. Also preceding her in death was her four brothers Herman, James, Raymond, and Robert Cooper; four sisters Beulah Braden, Thelma Graham, Betty Baird, and infant sister Dicie Geneva Cooper.

Surviving family include her husband L.J. Neal of Strunk; daughter Anna Faye Murphy of Pine Knot; son Randall Neal and wife Lisa of Mayfield, Kentucky; her grandson Brandon Neal and wife Stephanie; great grandchildren Avery and Mallory Neal; step grandchildren Katy Dimarco and Andrew Hill; step great grandchild Miles Dimarco; one sisters Lois Phelps and husband Bud of Moraine, Ohio, and a brother Clyde Cooper of Cincinnati, Ohio.

Evelyn was a member at the Marsh Creek Baptist Church. She loved gardening, canning, taking care of her kids, going to church, singing, and was a member of the McCreary County Gospel Singers.

Pine Knot Funeral Home assisted the family with funeral arrangements.
