MARY KATHERINE JOHNSON

Ms. Mary Katherine Johnson, age 67, of Pine Knot, Kentucky, passed away Sunday, July 2, 2006, at the McCreary Health & Rehabilitation Center in Pine Knot, Kentucky.

Funeral services were held on Thursday, July 6, 2006, at 2:00 p.m. in the chapel of Pine Knot Funeral Home. She was laid to rest in the Stephens Cemetery.

She was born May 24, 1939, to the late Elbert and Ida King Stephens. She was a homemaker and attended the Meadows Grove Baptist church.

Besides her parents, she has two infant sons that precede her in death as well as her ex-husband Ernest Johnson the father of her children. Surviving sons are Craig Johnson, Jack (and Sandi) Johnson, and Greg (and Pam) Johnson all of Pine Knot. She was blessed with six grandchildren: Joshua Johnson, Laurie (and Richard) Richardson, Michael, Megan, Coby, and Jacklyn Johnson.

Ms. Johnson had five brothers, Melvin (and Shirley) Stephens, Ronald (and Betty Jo) Stephens, Bruce (and Ella) Stephens, Joe (and Lynn) Stephens all of Pine Knot and Tim (and Peggy) Stephens of Georgia. She had two sisters Barbara Littrell (and Walter Strange) of Strunk and Frances (and Allen) Burke of Pine Knot.
