Martha E Neal

Martha Neal age 89 of the Round Top Community in Strunk, Kentucky passed from this life on Wednesday, November 4, 2020 at her home. 

She was born in Strunk, Kentucky to the late Calvin Taylor and Nancy Jane (Daugherty) Taylor. In addition to her parents, Martha is preceded in death by her husband, Bennie Ottis Neal, brothers, Arnold and Norman Taylor, and a granddaughter, Shirley Lynn Cooper Coffey.

Surviving family include her daughters, Stella Cooper (Thurman) and Dianna Lawson (Elmer); 4 grandchildren, Michelle King, Wilma Hale, Lena Haygood, and Jason Lawson; 9 great-grandchildren; 11 great-great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, and friends that Martha loved dearly. 

Martha was a member of the Lower Hickory Grove Baptist Church and attended the Round Top United Baptist Church faithfully. She loved listening to music and preaching. It was no surprise to visit her at home and find her with the radio turned up playing gospel music or peaching. Martha loved the Lord. She enjoyed quilting, sewing, and working in her garden. Martha was also a homemaker and enjoyed caring for her family, especially her grandchildren. She will be sadly missed by all, but we know that our earthly loss is Heaven’s Eternal gain.

Funeral service will be held on Saturday, November 7, 2020 at 2:00 pm at the Round Top United Baptist Church with Chaplin Keith McKim and Bro. Edd King officiating. Music will be provided by the Round Top Church Choir. She will be laid to rest in the Smith Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Friday after 6:00 pm at the church. 

Pallbearers assisting will be Wade Garland, Brian Hughes, Jason Lawson, Cody Haygood, Dylan Haygood, and Zachary Hale.
