Margaret Elaine Jones, a devoted wife, loving mother, and cherished grandmother, passed away peacefully on January 6, 2025, at her home in Marshes Siding, Kentucky. Born on May 20, 1949, in Smithtown, Kentucky, to the late Chester Lee and Zora Bell (Davis) Stephens, she lived a life rich in love, faith, and commitment to her family.
Margaret was a pillar of strength and support to her family, often found surrounded by her loved ones. She had a profound affection for her grandchildren—Storm, Tyson, Jordon, Cole, Ellie, and Ryland—and took great joy in nurturing and guiding them. Her devotion extended beyond her immediate family as she cherished the time spent with her great-grandchildren: Kallen, Xavier, Gryson, Kade, and Nala.
A passionate and active member of her community, Margaret loved going to the Upper Hickory Grove Baptist Church, where she not only worshipped but also shared her musical talent by playing the piano. Her contributions to her church underscored her unwavering faith and commitment to helping others.
Margaret's family includes her beloved husband, Jack Jones, who stood by her side through all of life’s moments. She is also survived by her son, Melvin Andrew Tucker, and his wife, Kim; daughters, Daphne Stevens and her husband, Damon, and Melanie Bell and her husband, Scottie. She leaves behind brother Brent Stephens and sisters Nancy Tucker (and husband Parker), Brenda Chitwood, and Mary Lindsay (and husband Don).
Aside from her immediate family, Margaret is mourned by her late husband, Melvin Tucker, brothers and sisters: Chester Stephens, Jr., Joe Stephens, Charles Stephens, Bill Stephens, Steve Stephens, Robert and Gerald Stephens, Jerry Stephens, Terry Stephens, and Wanda Stephens, with whom she shared a deep bond throughout her life.
