Edwin Luther Duncan age 85 of Strunk, Kentucky passed from this life on Wednesday, March 27, 2024 at his home.
He was born April 11, 1938 in McCreary County, Kentucky to the late Ale Duncan and Versie (Spradlin) Duncan.
In addition to his parents, Luther is preceded in death by his wife, Betty (Angel) Duncan whom he married on March 10, 1981; sons, Edwin Luther Duncan Jr. and Russel Lee Duncan; siblings, Opal Taylor (husband, Claude), Ronald Duncan (wife, Temple), Crawford Duncan (wife, Joyce), Lenville Duncan (wife, Kate), Barbara Barnett (husband, Kelly), Shirley Duncan, and Casper Duncan.
Surviving family include his children, Cheryl Spinelli of Ft. Myers, Florida, Darrell Duncan of Dryridge, Kentucky, Shirley Stamper of Covington, Kentucky, and Kimberly Duncan of Stephens City, Virginia; special grandchildren, Tonya Brock, Kortney Anderson, and Erica Duncan.
Also surviving is his brother, A.Y. Duncan (wife, Marilyn) of Strunk, Kentucky; and a sister, Bonnie Stephens (husband, Morris) of Winfield, Tennessee.
Luther was a member of the Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church, but he loved to attend services at The Log Cabin Church. In past time, he made a living as a coal miner, general laborer, and working for D.H. Campbell. Luther never met a stranger, he loved to socialize. He always had a joke or story to tell. Luther had a witty personality, and his contagious smile will be sadly missed.
Funeral service will be held on Monday, April 1, 2024 at 1:00 pm in the chapel of Pine Knot Funeral Home with Bro. Morris Stephens and Bro. David Burton officiating. Burial to follow in the Silerville Cemetery. The family will receive friends for visitation on Monday after 11:00 am until service time.
