LONA GODSEY

Mrs. Lona Godsey, of Pine Knot, Kentucky, passed away peacefully at her home on Saturday, April 4, 2009. She was 84 years old.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday, April 7, 2009, at 2:00 p.m. at the Mt. View Baptist Church in Stearns, Kentucky. Bro. Larry Fultz, Bro. Stanley Tucker and Bro. Dennis Neal will be officiating. She will be laid to rest at the Mt. View Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the church on Monday evening from 6 a€" 9 p.m.

She was a homemaker and a member of the Mt. View Baptist Church.

Mrs. Godsey was born in Stearns, Kentucky, on November 3, 1924, to the late George and Frona Coffey Worley. Also preceding her in death is her husband Robert Godsey who passed away September 17, 1997, a son Austin, a and a brother Homer Worley.

Surviving family include a son Leamon (and Rickie) Godsey of Stearns, three daughters; Theola (and Bobby) Worley of Pine Knot, Molly (and Harold) Jones of Stearns, Alice (and Danny) Neal of Pine Knot, two brothers Ronzo and Arnold Worley, both of Stearns, and five sisters; Carrie Phillips of Sidney, Ohio, Thelma Jones, Lola Jones, Evelyn Gibson and Elsie Crisp all of Stearns. She had ten grandchildren, nine great grandchildren and 1 great great-grandchild.
