LOIS DAVIS DOUGLAS

Lois (Davis) Douglas, age 91 years and 5 days, of Revelo, Kentucky, passed away Sunday, February 16, 2014, at the Lake Cumberland Regional Hospital in Somerset, Kentucky.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday, February 19, 2014, at 1:00 p.m. in the chapel of Pine Knot funeral Home with Bro. Eddie King officiating. Burial will be at the Pine Knot Cemetery. The family will receive friends Wednesday morning from 11:00 until time for services.

She was born in Pine Knot, Kentucky, to the late Walter and Pearly Mae Davis on February 11, 1923. Besides her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband Phillip McClintock Douglas, a sister Effie Ross, and a grandson Tommy Ray Stephens.

She is survived by her seven children; Harold Douglas (Brenda), Mossy Head, Florida; Roger Douglas (Geraldine), Big Spring, Texas; Edna Stephens, Revelo; Don Douglas (Pam), Whitley City, Roy Douglas (Barb), Sandhill, Kentucky; Mary Douglas, Revelo, Kentucky, Ned Douglas (Jean), Cincinnati, Ohio. There are 16 grandchildren and 17 great grandchildren, several cousins, nieces and nephews.

Lois worked a good portion of her life in various flower shops. She was a member of the First Hickory Grove Church She was a strong willed, resourceful and independent woman. She was called Grandma by many, whether related or not. She will be sadly missed by all who loved her.
