Leslie Clinton Hammock, age 65, passed from this life on Thursday, March 15, 2012, at the Williamsburg Health and Rehabilitation Center in Williamsburg, Kentucky.
Funeral services will be Sunday at 2:30 p.m. at the Davis Hill Church of God with Rev. Clay Cook and Rev. Dillard Bryant officiating. Special music will be by Darrell Bryant and Bill Stephens. He will be laid to eternal rest at the Neely's Creek Cemetery. Visitation will be Saturday from 6 p.m. a" 9 p.m. at Pine Knot Funeral Home.
Leslie had been a pipe fitter for Fluer Daniels Construction Company. He attended and helped build the Davis Hill Church of God. He served in the United States Army during the Vietnam War. His favorite hobbies were playing pool and going fishing.
Born June 27, 1946, he is the son of the late Dan "Shorty" and Goldie Marie (Vanover) Hammock. Besides his parents, he is preceded in death by a brother Harold Hammock and two sisters Dorothy Bryant and Wilda Hammock.
Surviving family include his wife Betty Bryant Hammock of Strunk, KY, children; Randall (wife Bridget) Hammock, Somerset, KY, Lesley Jay (wife Becky) Hammock, Whitley City, KY, Rhonda (husband Mike) Walters, Oneida, TN, Sherri (husband Stan) Tucker, Whitley City, and Joshua Hammock, Pine Knot. He has one brother, Orville Hammock of Nicholasville, KY, and three sisters; Margie Watson, Whitley City, Sherri (husband Johnny) Cooper, Sidney, OH, and Tammy Hammock, Florida. Leslie and Betty were blessed with 13 grandchildren; Courtney, Drake, Riley, and West Hammock, Dylan King, Alex and Jaylen Hammock, Joshua and Taylor Tucker, Dylan Dolan, and Dakota, Dustin and Kelbey Walters. There are many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and other relatives and friends who will truly miss him including very special friends Jean and Troy Jeffers.
