Lawrence Jean Gilreath

Lawrence Gilreath age 76 of Warren, Michigan, formerly of Pine Knot, Kentucky passed from this life on Monday, July 29, 2019.

He was born December 24, 1942 in McCreary County, Kentucky to the late Golden Gilmore Gilreath and Eva Mae (Bryant) Gilreath. Also preceding Lawrence in death is his wife, Theresa (Koshko) Gilreath. 

Surviving family include his son, Randy Scott Gilreath of Warren, Michigan; brothers, Lloyd Gilreath of Pine Knot, Jimmy Gilreath and wife, Helen of Glasgow, Kentucky, William Gilreath and wife, Joan, of Stearns, Charlie Gilreath and wife, Karen, of Georgetown, Kentucky, and Gilmore Gilreath and wife, Sheila, of Pine Knot; and sisters, Linnie Miller and husband, Ralph, of Madisonville, Kentucky, Linda Meadows and husband, Allen, of Pine Knot, and Sandra Gilreath, also of Pine Knot. Lawrence is also survived by many nieces, nephews, and a host of extended family who loved him dearly. 

Lawrence was a Veteran of the United States Air Force. After his time in the military, he made his home in Michigan where he worked for General Motors for several years. Lawrence was no stranger to work, especially on vehicles, but he also enjoyed working on his land and around home. He loved being outdoors and hunting.  

Funeral service will be held on Saturday, August 10, 2019 at 11:00 am in the chapel of Pine Knot Funeral Home. Burial to follow in the Pine Knot Cemetery. The family will receive friends for visitation on Friday after 6:00 pm at the funeral home.
