Larry Lee Wood

Larry Lee Wood, age 64, of Pine Knot, Kentucky, passed away Saturday, February 27, 2021 at the Jean Waddle Care Center in Somerset, Kentucky.

He was born August 6, 1956, to Lodia Boyatt and Lois Jeannette Wood.  He is preceded in death by his father, Lodia Boyatt, his adoptive parents: Virgil and Reba Boyatt Wood, his wife, Christina Roberts Wood, three brothers: Theo Wood, Timothy Wood, and Paul Brooks, and two sisters: Willa Jean Ferrier and Shirley Fay Young.

Surviving family include his mother Lois Jeannette Wood of Corbin; five brothers: Ancil Wood of Amelia, Ohio, Bruce Allen Stephens of Whitley City, Lonnie Wood of Pine Knot, Lenville Carter (and Judy) of Winfield, Tennessee, and Steve Allen Carter (and Janice Walker) of Whitley City; four sisters: Gail Taylor of Oneida, Tennessee, Willa Faye Lay (and James) of Pine Knot, Vickie Chitwood (and John Lesh) of Georgia, Mary Slavey, and Wanda Diane Myers of Pine Knot; special nephews, Dustin Lay, Troy Wood; and a special brother-in-law, James Lay.   

There are special nieces and nephews: Kyle, Lucas, Lindsey, Kayla, and Adreanna Jones, Liz Taylor, Crystal Boyatt, Tommy Ray Chitwood, Theo Chitwood, Rebecca Jones, Sandra Wood, and several other nieces and nephews that Larry loved dearly, and a special friend, Rick Taylor. 

Larry was a member of the Pine Knot United Baptist Church.  He enjoyed playing video games and cards, building and tinkering with things, and mowing the yard and riding the lawn mower.  He had a good sense of humor and liked to play jokes on people.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, March 2, 2021, in the chapel of Pine Knot Funeral Home with Bro. Dewayne Perry and Bro. James Lay officiating.  Burial will be at the Wood Family Cemetery.  The family will receive friends Tuesday from 12:00 noon until time for services.
