Rev. Larry McBeath, age 66, of Pine Knot, Kentucky, passed away Wednesday, July 2, 2014, at the UT Hospital in Knoxville, Tennessee.
Funeral services will be held Saturday at 2:00 p.m. at the New Beginnings Assembly of God Church in Oneida, Tennessee. The family will receive friends Saturday from 1:00 p.m. until time for services at the church.
Rev. McBeath was a pastor of the New Beginnings Assembly of God Church. He was a member of the Assemblies of God and the Church of God Mt. Assembly of Jellico, Tennessee. He had worked as a truck driver for IDSC Transportation. He also worked for the McDonald Douglas Company in Long Beach, California. He was veteran of the US Army having served in Vietnam. He was a purple heart and bronze star recipient He also received the National Defense Service Medal, the Vietnam Service Medal, the Republic of Vietnam Campaign Medal, Army Commendation Medal, 2 OS Bars, and other honors.
He was born August 31, 1947, in Cincinnati, Ohio, to the late Kenneth Fred and Lena Marie (Chitwood) McBeath. Besides his parents, he is preceded in death by his sister Regina Stephens.
Surviving family include his wife Kathy (Williams) McBeath of Pine Knot, two sons; Larry James McBeath (and wife Kim) of Buena Park, California and Jason McBeath (and wife Jennifer) of Anaheim, California, two daughters; Rochelle Davis (and husband Bob) of Chino Valley, Arizona and Lanette Beck of Huntington Beach, California. He has one brother; Terry McBeath (and wife Donna) of Findley, Ohio and 13 grandchildren; James, Emily, Sarah, Abigail and Ashton McBeath, Kylie, Hunter, Kody, Austin, Katryna and Matthew Davis and Johnny and Natalie Beck.
Pine Knot Funeral Home is assisting the family with funeral arrangements.
