KENNETH EUGENE WOOD

Kenneth Eugene Wood, age 64 of Pine Knot, Kentucky, passed away Monday, April 19, 2021, at the V. A. Medical Center in Lexington, Kentucky.

Born April 17, 1957, in Douglas Wyoming, he was the son of Kenneth F. Wood and Dorothy Ann Smothermon.  He is preceded in death by his father.

He is also preceded in death by a daughter, Tyegene Wood, two brothers: Tim Smothermon (and his wife Burta), Jerrell Wayne Wilkerson and a step-brother: Jimmie Wilkerson.

He is survived by his mother Dorothy Smothermon who lives in Oregon, his wife of 42 years, Debbie (Morris) Wood whom he married October 4, 1980, a son: Kenneth Eugene Wood, Jr. (and Casandra) of Richmond, Kentucky, daughter: Lacy Marie Roberts (and Travis) of Strunk, Kentucky.

Also surviving are two brothers:  Dewayne Smothermon (and Charlotte Puckett) of Lind, Washington, and Robert Smothermon of Portland, Oregon, and four sisters:  Karen Ward (and Jeffrey) of Norwalk, Ohio, Charlene Smothermon (and Mike Reese) of Maupin, Oregon, Carol Ann Weston (and Marshall) of Madera, California, Diane Yancey (and Dewayne) of Reno, Nevada, and five grandchildren:  Hope Munn, Colton Wood, Case Wood, Amelia Roberts, and Oliver Roberts.

Kenneth had worked in construction and served his country in the U.S. Air Force for four years .  He enjoyed wood working and whittling, but most of all he loved spending time with his five grandchildren and adoptive grandkids.

Per his wishes, he was cremated and a private family gathering will be held at a later date.

Pine Knot Funeral Home assisted the family with arrangements.
